Optimal treatment of haemophilia
The 5th Kreuth symposium took place on 7 and 8 June 2019 in Schloss Hohenkammer, Germany, 20 years after the first meeting. This symposium addressed haemophilia treatment and its programme was built on the discussion held at the 4th symposium, during which it had been identified that progress in haemophilia treatment, with the arrival of new therapies, i.e. extended halflife products and non-replacement therapies on the market, would need to be followed. The plenary and working group sessions offered a unique forum for delegates, clinicians, regulators and representatives of patient organisations from 26 countries to exchange information, discuss current practices and anticipate future developments in Europe. This ultimately enabled the formulation of 13 recommendations. These proceedings reproduce the presentations, with the kind permission of the speakers, summaries of the presentations and main discussion points and the ensuing recommendations of the symposium as officially adopted by the CD-P-TS in May 2020 through a written procedure.
